What Does The 'Syncing' Status On A Coin Mean?
Updated over a week ago

The 'syncing' status on a coin in the Coinosh app indicates that the app is in the process of synchronising with the corresponding blockchain.

The syncing process is necessary to ensure that the app has the most up-to-date information about transactions, balances, and other data related to the specific coin. This synchronisation process can take some time, especially in certain situations such as:

  • When restoring a wallet with Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Dash, Litecoin, or Zcash cryptocurrencies, the initial synchronization can take several hours, depending on the number of coins being restored.

  • When activating a specific coin for the first time after setting up the wallet.

  • After a significant period of time has passed since the app was last opened.

  • In cases of poor network conditions or slow internet connections, the syncing process may take longer than usual.

  • Delays or slow response times from Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain RPC providers can also impact the syncing process.

It's important to note that the syncing process only occurs when the Coinosh app is open. If the app is closed, the syncing process is paused and will resume when the app is opened again.
