Why Did The Bitcoin Balance Not Increase After Receiving Payment?
Updated over a week ago

To ensure the security and validity of Bitcoin transactions, the network requires a certain number of confirmations before a payment is considered final. Each confirmation represents the inclusion of a transaction in a new block added to the Bitcoin blockchain.

Coinosh wallet follows the standard practice of waiting for 3 confirmations for a Bitcoin payment to be considered fully confirmed. This means that at least 2 additional blocks need to be added to the blockchain after the block containing the transaction in question.

Until the payment receives the required number of confirmations, the wallet balance may not reflect the increase from the received payment. The confirmation process can take some time, depending on the network congestion and the fee attached to the transaction.

You can track the confirmation status of a payment within the Coinosh app or by using a public Bitcoin block explorer. Once the payment has received the necessary confirmations, the wallet balance will be updated to reflect the received funds.
